A natural pillow

Proper support of the head and vertebrae is of essential importance for a proper and pleasant sleeping position. Your personal needs, wishes and sleeping position are of the utmost importance when choosing a pillow. If you sleep on your side, you will need a higher pillow than someone who prefers to sleep on their back.

For each head a pillow!
Because we respect the environment, we at Lavital box spring beds choose pillows with natural fillings and pillow-cases. Please do not hesitate to compare the pillow we have on display in our showroom. Test them out and lie down on them, so you can make the right decision. We know this is an essential part of a good night's rest.

Hen, duck and goose feathers
Hen feathers are carefully washed and the sharp hollow shaft is removed. They then make a soft, but not very resilient filling. Duck or goose feather are softer and more voluminous than hen feathers and relatively small. The afterfeather creates a soft feeling. The hollow shaft is bent. This creates spring and volume. A feather pillow is fit for 'kneading' and offers sufficient comfort, if it is furnished with a dust and featherproof pillow-case.

Combed Java-kapok
A kapok pillow can by all means make a good pillow. The waxy coating around the hollow fibre creates resilience and quickly disposes with moist without absorbing it. A kapok pillow is also anti-bacterial, because of the coating that locks in the fibres. In conclusion, we can safely say that a kapok pillow is quite firm and hygienic, excels in moist and heat management and can be shaped according to personal preferences. Lavital's Randu kapok is by far the best kapok available. It is exceptionally durable, which has been confirmed by an official test (TNO test August 2003).

Pure wool
Wool is a natural fibre. It will allow perspiration to be absorbed. Wool also contains wool grease (lanoline), which makes the wool dirt-repellent.

Down
Down is very soft and easily transports transpiration fluid. With normal maintenance (frequent airing and fluffing) a down pillow will not feel clammy easily. Down is also extremely light. A small down percentage in weight therefore makes up for a greater part of volume. 15% of down in weight, makes up for a 50% of a pillow's volume.

Pillow slip
100% cotton. Cotton is strong, supple and has good moist and temperature conducting qualities.

Apart form our ordinairy pillows we also offer bolsters in feather and kapok.
We will elaborate further on pillows on our web log www.lavital.blog.nl concerning topics such as maintenance, duration and give general advice.
